How to Use Shengyi S1151G Halogen-Free Pb-Free PCB Material

The Shengyi S1151G is a halogen-free, lead-free PCB material designed for high reliability and performance in various electronic applications. This material is particularly suitable for environments where high electrical insulation is required, as it features a Comparative Tracking Index (CTI) of 600V or higher. It is also UV blocking and AOI compatible, making it an excellent choice for intricate PCB designs where automated optical inspection is used.

When designing a PCB stackup using Shengyi S1151G, the following properties should be considered:

  • Thermal Properties: The material has a high glass transition temperature (Tg) of 150°C, which ensures stability under thermal stress. It can withstand a thermal stress of 288°C for over 10 seconds without delamination, making it suitable for lead-free soldering processes which typically require higher temperatures.
  • Electrical Properties: With a dielectric constant of 4.5 at 1MHz and a low dissipation factor of 0.010, this material provides excellent electrical insulation and minimal signal loss, which is crucial for maintaining signal integrity in high-speed applications.
  • Mechanical and Chemical Resistance: The material exhibits high flexural strength (600 MPa longitudinally and 450 MPa transversely), which is beneficial for applications requiring robust mechanical properties. It also shows minimal water absorption (0.10%), further enhancing its durability and reliability in humid conditions.

For applications such as communications equipment, mobile phones, computers, and other consumer electronics, Shengyi S1151G offers a robust platform due to its superior flame resistance (UL94 V-0), high CTI, and compatibility with lead-free assembly.
